Pinterest – Retro Home Vibes

Hey hey, how you doing?

Of course, for something different, I’ve spent the last 2 hours on Pinterest, pining my life away.

Since I’ve moved out & I’m in the process of decorating my home, I’ve been looking at so many ideas, and as I look around at how I’ve started my home, it brings so many retro vibes! So I thought I would show you some of the pins that have inspired my decor.

Cactus & succulents:

As soon as I think of retro, I immediately think of cactuses! Cactuses bring so much life & colour into the room & they are so easy to look after!

Colour & wallpaper:

Colour! So much colour! It’s quite obvious that groovy coloured & patterned wallpaper was a big retro hit & it makes me wonder why it never continued into modern styles, because it adds so much fun & funk into a space. Whether it’s wallpaper in the living room or groovy patterned pillow cases, colour adds so much character to the retro vibe.

Furniture & accessories:

Of course vinyl’s are one of the greatest creations to come from the retro era, which is so making a comeback! So I just had to add one to my living room, and to be honest it just sets the room, and it also sounds like pure beauty. I love hearing Chuck Berry on vinyl.

You cannot have a retro room without retro furniture. I would loveeeeeee to fill my room with original retro furniture; however it’s so hard to find furniture with an appropriate & affordable price tag. So I suggest doing some research & finding replicas or similar furniture that you can make work. Like the ‘retro package’ from Fantastic Furniture.

Thank you for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed my retro post just as much as I enjoyed creating it. How good is Pinterest though? All the photos added I did get from Pinterest so none of them belong to me; however I will look at doing a tour of my home for you shortly 🤪

Talk soon,
