Dems 19th on the Coast

It was so good being back together after 12 months of finishing school. On the weekend we based ourselves in Yeppoon at Demi’s house for her 19th birthday – where a couple of us high school friends caught up for some much needed girl time!

Since I have finished school I have kept in touch with about four girls from high school, simply because some have moved away and life gets in the road (we all know how crazy life can get), so it was great to catch up with some of my girls that I haven’t seen or spoken to in over 12 months (even though it felt like yesterday).

Okay, back to my weekend story.

Dem’s birthday was on the Sunday – so Shanae, Fynn, Caitlin and I traveled Saturday morning towards the coast where we did some shopping in Rockhampton, and then some day/afternoon drinking once we arrived at Dem’s place.

Demi’s place is in the perfect spot for a little getaway. It is literally across the road from the beach, bringing some much needed salty hair and makeup-free days.

On Saturday night after a few hours of getting ready and pre-drinks, we hit the Railway Hotel and then made our way to The Strand for a few more drinks and lots of dancing.

Sunday – Demi’s Birthday was first celebrated with breakfast at the Coffee Club and a stroll through the markets. It wasn’t long after that, that we all decided it was time to go for a swim in the beach. Sadly enough, it is jellyfish season here and we did see more then a few jellyfish. Although with them only being Bluebottle jellyfish, it wasn’t enough to keep some of us out of the water.

After a much needed swim and a few jellyfish stings, it was time to head back to Dem’s and start the birthday celebrations. We started off with a few drinks and cob-loaf with Demi’s beautiful family – followed by beer (wine) pong and a night full of plenty of laughter.

Now Monday deserves it’s own post, so soon enough I’ll have it up and ready for a read. We spent the day at the beautiful Stony Creek before heading home. Stay tuned and it will be up in no time! This place is AMAZING.

A huge thank you to everyone I spent the weekend with, and a very special birthday to Dem!

Thanks for stopping by,
