Well with the weekend around the corner, I thought I’d share my top 5 favourite romance movies from the 90s! Hopefully I will actually get the time this weekend to kick my feet up and have a movie night. If not, here are some movie ideas just in case you’re lucky enough to!
1) The Bodyguard (1992)
“A former Secret Service agent takes on the job of bodyguard to a pop singer, whose lifestyle is most unlike a President’s.”
If you love Whitney Houston just as much as I do, this one if definitely for you! I absolutely love the story behind this movie, and Kevin Costner is the biggest sweetheart!
2) Ghost (1990)
“After a young man is murdered, his spirit stays behind to warn his lover of impending danger, with the help of a reluctant psychic.”
After watching Dirty Dancing, I think we all have a soft spot for Patrick Swayze! I love how this movie is shot from a completely different perspective! This love story is so heart warming.
3) Armageddon (1998)
“After discovering that an asteroid the size of Texas is going to impact Earth in less than a month, N.A.S.A. recruits a misfit team of deep core drillers to save the planet.”
Ben Affleck melts my heart! If you’re as big of a sook as I am, this film will leave you balling your eyes out. Every single time. So make sure you have your tissues just in case.
4) Sleepless in Seattle (1993)
“A recently widowed man’s son calls a radio talk-show in an attempt to find his father a partner.”
I love the ‘fate’ and ‘destiny’ behind this movie, kind of like Serendipity (2001). This love story is just beautiful… I can’t recommend it enough.
5) Pretty Woman (1990)
“A man in a legal but hurtful business needs an escort for some social events, and hires a beautiful prostitute he meets… only to fall in love.”
If you love something with a bit of comedy, definitely watch this one. This love story is so funny! Which makes it one of many reasons why I love it, also because it stars Julia!
There we go, my top 5 romance movies from the 90s! I hope you get a little bit of free time this weekend, hopefully for a movie night!
Tell me your thoughts.
