Happiness is key, like I always write about. I strongly hold my view on this and express it as much as possible, as I believe it is something we all need for a healthy lifestyle.
You would have experienced it for yourself, we all have. Feeling down and depressed does hold negative impacts on our day-to-day lives. Obviously, it does bring sadness and depression, so why don’t we choose to be happy? I’m a victim just like you are. We all have bad days that sometimes drag out to be bad weeks, and sometimes even months.
Recently I had been feeling down, showing all these signs of becoming depressed. Not feeling good enough, alone and worthless, until I found out why. Here’s a few steps that I found helpful when finding the happiness I needed. Please take the time to read, they may help you.
Step 1. Surround yourself with happiness.
Blocking out people and choosing to be alone is a choice, and not a every wise one. Surround yourself with the happy ones. Anyone from family to friends, dogs to cats. Literally anyone you find happiness with, connect with them. While writing this blog I asked my best friend and my boyfriend what simple things made them happy. They both replied with family and friends. As people, it is so important to be aware of the positives our close ones bring us. I find myself so thankful for my family and small group of friends, simply because of the way they make me feel. By surrounding yourself with these people, you will see the biggest change in your lifestyle, in the most simplest way.
Step 2. Pick up a new hobby.
Try something different. Anything! For all you know it may just be the greatest decision of all time. Start walking regularly, cooking or even start a new T.V series. Start anything that will bring you enjoyment. I recently started gardening, something I’ve never shown interest in and never thought I would, only to prove to myself that I do. So go on, try it sister, it might just be for you.
Step 3. Make a plan.
I recently blogged about ‘creating the perfect plan’, so go ahead and work on it. Don’t sit back and drown in misery, jump right in and make your own plan, let the positiveness shine. Think about tomorrow and how you can make it as enjoyable as possible. After all, you are the creator.
Step 4. Make a change.
Step up and take a stand. This step can be done in so many ways, and the way you choose to do it is completely up to you. Influence others, or help those in need. Become creative and think of ways you can make your own type of change. Even the littlest influence can make the biggest impact. The feeling of giving to someone else in need, even just a smile, works wonders.
Step 5. Do you.
Step 5 is most important. Don’t get to lost in trying to be everything you’re not. There’s no greater person than yourself, so show yourself off and live every moment to the fullest. Do the things that make you happy, and surround yourself with the ones that support your happiness. Do you really think I care about what others have to say or think about me “gardening”? No I don’t, because its one of my ways of staying content, so what else matters? Remember, you deserve nothing but the best.
So stay unique and kind. Find your happiness and stick to it. Start thinking of ways you can create or expand on your happiness, and let it guide you through each day. Look at life from a new perspective, by finding the positives and work towards them. You have the power to make every day exactly the way you want it to be. Wake up with the motivation to tackle down any obstacles, and the ability to stand back up and walk forward. You are the strength and influence of your happiness.
